Clifton Ministerial Alliance
The Clifton Ministerial Alliance is a group of local churches in and around Clifton that are dedicated to working together toward a shared goal: to make a tangible impact for Christ in the lives of those within our midst. The Ministerial Alliance provides the Clifton Food Bank and Financial Assistance within the Clifton area.
First United Methodist Church of Clifton partners with the Clifton Church of Christ, First Baptist Church, First Presbyterian Church, Gospel Lighthouse Church, Holy Angels Catholic Church, Immanuel Lutheran Church, Trinity Lutheran Church, Zion United Church at Womack, and our Savior’s Lutheran Church at Norse. Clifton Food Bank
The Clifton Food Bank is located at the corner of Highway 6 and 9th Street in the Presbyterian Place. The address is: 310 S Ave G/Hwy 6 Clifton, TX 76634.
The Clifton Food Bank is available three days a week to all persons who live in the 76634 area code.
Days and hours of service are:
Mondays, 6:30 to 8:00 PM
Tuesdays, 9:30 AM to Noon
Thursdays, 9:30 AM to Noon
Application for service may be made during hours the Food Bank is open. Proof of identity and residency are required annually. Clients may visit the Food Bank once a month.
The Clifton Food Bank stocks non-perishable canned and dry food items. Donations of these items may be brought to the Food Bank during its operating hours.
Financial Assistance
The churches within the Ministerial Alliance work together to provide financial assistance to those going through periods of economic hardship. Please contact pastor@fumcclifton.org for more information or to make a request for financial assistance.
Financially Support the Ministerial Alliance
Donations to the Ministerial Alliance can be made through any church that participates in the alliance.
To donate to the Ministerial Alliance through FUMC Clifton, please head to this link to be taken to FUMC Clifton’s online donation portal. Scroll down to the “Missions” section and there you will be able to select “Ministerial Alliance” to make a general donation to the Clifton Ministerial Alliance or select “Food Pantry” in order to directly support the Clifton Food Pantry.
To mail a financial contribution, write your check to Clifton Ministerial Alliance and note “Food Bank” on the memo line if you wish the donation to contribute directly to the Clifton Food Bank. Otherwise, leave the memo line blank. Financial donations may be mailed to Clifton Ministerial Alliance, c/o PO Box 229, Clifton, Texas, 76634.
Monthly Fresh Food Distribution
Every second Wednesday of the month at 1:30 PM, a large truck comes from Tarrant County to Cub Stadium and provides fresh (frozen, not canned) meat, fresh vegetables and fruit, milk, juice, and similar items for clients who qualify.
To qualify to receive the fresh food distribution, you must be receiving at least one of the following types of assistance:
· Medicaid (not Medicare)
· Social Security Income (SSI)
· Food stamps (SNAP)
· National School Lunches for Students
· Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
As a client you will be required to fill out an application once a year to receive this food distribution. You may fill out this application at Cub Stadium on a day that distribution is taking place. Kathy Meissner will be there to assist you in applying.
